What is FINA Approved Swimwear?
FINA approved swimwear is competition swimwear that meets the standards set by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) for use in official racing events.
How Does It Differ from Our Standard Swimwear?
Our FINA approved swimwear is designed to enhance performance in competitive swimming. It is made from a hydrodynamic material that reduces drag and includes lower profile flatlock seams for a sleek fit. The fabric is highly structured to offer maximum compression, which helps reduce muscle vibration, improve blood circulation, and speed up recovery time.
In contrast, our ZONE3 standard swimwear also boasts a performance fit and low profile flatlock seams, but it uses a fabric with less compression and lower specifications. This makes it ideal for training and recreational swimming, offering comfort and durability.

Which of your products are FINA approved?
FINA is the international governing body of swimming, water polo, synchronised swimming and open water swimming.
The FINA logo is a seal of approval that it has been endorsed by the governing body of swimming and can be worn in any FINA-affiliated competition.
To gain approval by FINA, the product must go through a strict audit process governed by pages of guidelines and specifications. In essence, these rules are designed to make sure human performance and ability are not unfairly augmented or enhanced by the technology used in the development of the product.
FINA looks for three key areas; design, material and construction.
These products are FINA approved:
- Performance Speed: Jammers and Kneeskin

- Advance wetsuit
- All swimskins (also non-wetsuit legal) -
What is Yulex?
ZONE3 have been in search of a clean alternative to neoprene since the beginning and we are excited to be the first triathlon brand to use YULEX®, a natural plant-based rubber sourced from the Havea tree. The sap of the tree is purified, refined and made into a Yulex dry solid rubber. This material can then be moulded and sliced to a desired thickness and laminated, ready to be manufactured into swimwear or wetsuits.

Do you do plus size swmiwear?
We know that people come in all shapes and sizes, and we are delighted to have extended our sizing options in many of our suits up to XXL for women, and also including an ML size for shorter ladies.
We constantly review our customer feedback with regards to the sizing of our products and are working hard to ensure our sizing is as inclusive as possible.
