Finn's Story

I was inspired to give Ironman Wales a go back in 2016 after watching multiple iterations of it growing up and really enjoyed the process that led up to it and it all took off from there!  

If there was one thing I would say I love most about triathlon it would be the sense of routine and purpose that the training gives.   

As a coach I have seen how triathlon and the community in and around it can be the catalyst that helps people regain confidence and/or happiness after a low period.  

INSPIRATION: The group that probably inspire me the most are my athletes who train for these brutal events whilst balancing a full-time job and families in a couple of instances. It is remarkable how they find the motivation to fit everything in despite the numerous demands on their time and energy!

SEASON GOALS: My aim for 2025 is the same as it is every year: perform to the best of my ability at my A-races. With any luck this year that will lead to some good results too!

GREATEST CHALLENGE: My toughest challenge has been overcoming the stress fracture I suffered from through 2023. It wrote off the majority ofmy season and had me questioning at times whether I even wanted to pursue the sport anymore. My support group are the only thing that got me through that rough patch, for which I am forever grateful to them! 

BEST RESULT TO DATE: 

My best result at the pro level is probably Ironman Vitoria last year where I set the Welsh record time over the Iron distance
