Goal 1h, result 1h 2min
This was the hardest thing I have done. Couldn't swim freestyle because I couldn't breathe, panic. Even the support staff with kayak asked if I needed help. I didn't want to give up. I was thinking, what can I do, how can I finish?? Then, started to swim backstroke, but it was hard to keep the right trajectory. Just counted numbers in my head, over and over, to avoid panic. Tried again to swim freestyle but had no success. But not once did I feel like quitting. Also, the goggles were blurry.
I started to practice swimming last year, December. In the swimming pool, was feeling comfortable and had control over my breathing. Before race tried open water swimming and had also breathing problems but did overcome it. Wetsuit helped a lot.
Can't still believe that I finished 😱. Only 10 minutes before cut off.

The Venture is not 7mm, it is a combination of 2mm and 3mm Neoprene and High Stretch Nylon Lined Neoprene.
Unfortunately, we do not have a 7mm suit. The maximum wetsuit thickness for competitive triathlons is 5mm, so this is the highest mm our suits go up too.
