National Triathlon Day

This year, triathlon gets something new.

Created and officially registered by Zone3, National Triathlon Day is a new annual event built to bring the community together right at the start of the season.

We’re launching it at Divers Cove with a big day of open water swimming, wetsuit testing, coaching, athlete insight, partner activations, competitions and plenty more across the lake.

Where the Season Starts

Two of the standout moments on the day come from Scott Hill and Kieran Lindars.

Kieran, one of Britain’s leading long-course triathletes and the British long-distance record holder, will join us for a live Q&A fresh from his record-breaking performance at IRONMAN Texas.

Scott, a British Triathlon Level 3 High Performing Coach and former RAF Triathlon Head Coach, will lead a live coaching session focused on practical advice for open water and race season.

Whether you’re getting ready for your first open water swim or already building towards a packed race calendar, this is a chance to get involved, learn from the right people, and start the season on a high.

What to Expect

National Triathlon Day is about more than just turning up and getting in the water. It’s about the feeling of the season starting properly. People back together. Wetsuits on. Questions answered. Plans taking shape.

You’ll be able to test wetsuits in open water, take on a free short swim loop, jump on a turbo trainer and test your power, join Scott Hill’s coaching session and hear Kieran Lindars in conversation at the athlete Q&A.

The Zone3 team will be there all day, alongside ATW, Level Water, and other partners from across the sport.

There’ll also be giveaways, goody bags, refreshments on site, and non-alcoholic beers for after your swim.

Coaching and athlete Q&A

Scott Hill brings years of coaching experience at a high level, but what matters is what that means on the day: practical advice, clear guidance, and insight you can take straight into your own training. Whether you’re new to open water or sharpening up for the months ahead, his session is there to help you swim with more confidence and more intent.

Kieran Lindars brings a different perspective. He’s racing at the top end of the sport, has finished eighth at the IRONMAN World Championship, and has just set a new British long-distance record. Hearing from him is a chance to get closer to that level of racing and preparation, and to learn from someone living it in real time.

Alongside that, the Zone3 team will be on hand throughout the day to help with wetsuit fit, product questions and open water guidance.

Why we created it

Triathlon is about races, milestones and big weekends in the calendar. But we wanted to create a day that is all about celebrating the sport we love.

It’s a new annual event, officially registered and created by Zone3, to mark the start of the season and give the community something to rally around. A reason to show up, get involved and set the tone for what’s ahead.

Divers Cove is where it begins.

Open to all levels

National Triathlon Day is open to everyone.

Some people will be turning up for their first open water swim of the year. Some will be training for their first triathlon. Others will already be deep into race plans and looking for every edge they can find.

That mix is part of the point.

This day is about bringing the sport together at the moment the season begins. Different levels. Different goals. One place to get in the water and get going.
