FINA Approved Women's Performance Gold Kneeskin

The Performance Gold Kneeskin is the only Zone3 kneeskin approved by World Aquatics for sanctioned pool racing, under homologation number ZN220851. Built in PaperLite, the lightest hydrodynamic fabric in Zone3's race swimwear, with a Nano coating that repels water at the surface for reduced drag. An open back leaves the shoulders unrestricted through the catch and the recovery. Highly structured fabric applies targeted compression, with flatlock low-profile seams and metallic gold thread.

FINA Approved Women's Performance Gold Kneeskin

WHO IT'S FOR

Sanctioned pool racing, where approved swimwear is a condition of the start list. This is the suit for the races you have built a season around, and the only Zone3 kneeskin that will pass a kit check. Everything about it is cut for the two minutes that count rather than the training week around them.

  • County, regional and national pool competition
  • Championship finals and target races
  • Any event that mandates approved swimwear
  • Swimmers who want race-legal kit without giving up shoulder freedom

WHERE IT SITS IN THE RANGE

Zone3 makes race swimwear in two lines. Performance Gold uses PaperLite, the lighter fabric, with a Nano coating, and this kneeskin is the approved one. Performance Speed uses Aquaflo and its kneeskin is not approved, so it suits racing and race-pace training where the rules do not require it. If your event checks kit, this is the one.

KEY BENEFITS

1. The one that passes kit check. World Aquatics approved under homologation number ZN220851, listed since 2018, and the only Zone3 kneeskin with that approval.

2. The lightest race layer Zone3 makes. PaperLite is the lightest hydrodynamic fabric in the race swimwear range, cut to a second skin so there is very little of it and none of it loose.

3. Water runs off rather than in. The Nano coating repels water at the surface instead of letting the fabric absorb it, keeping resistance low and the suit light through a full race.

4. Shoulders free through the catch. The open back gives unrestricted movement into the catch and through the recovery, with no fabric pulling across the shoulder blades at full reach.

5. Compression that stays honest. Highly structured fabric applies targeted compression through the body and thighs, aiding muscular activation over repeated maximal efforts and holding its shape across a season.

WHAT YOU'LL FEEL

Light and open at the same time, which is an odd combination the first time. Getting into it takes patience and both hands, working from the ankles up. Once on, the pressure through the body and thighs is firm and even, while the back stays uncovered and cool. The difference shows at full reach, where the arms travel overhead with nothing catching across the shoulder blades and nothing pulling you back down.

RACE LEGAL

Approved by World Aquatics for sanctioned pool competition under homologation number ZN220851, and the only Zone3 kneeskin carrying that approval. The listing has stood since 2018. Check the label against the World Aquatics list if your event requires it. Tech behind it: World Aquatics homologation ZN220851

LIGHTER THAN IT LOOKS

PaperLite is the lightest hydrodynamic fabric Zone3 makes race swimwear from, worked into a second-skin cut with a Nano coating over the top. Water runs off the surface rather than soaking in, so the suit stays light and resistance stays low through a full race. Tech behind it: PaperLite fabric, Nano coating

SHOULDERS FREE

An open back with nothing pulling across the shoulder blades. The arms travel overhead and into the catch without the suit shortening the reach, which is where a closed-back race suit tends to cost you. Compression through the body, freedom above it. Tech behind it: Open back construction, structured PaperLite, flatlock low-profile seams

Amazing material concern re Sizing

"Amazing price and material . I had checked other reviews for sizing before purchasing an XS . It is very tight I was about to give up around hip/ bum area due to the unstretchable stitiching . However once on fits like a glove . I agree with other reviewers re top half I am a D cup and I was concerned re narrow cut on the (upper half ) sides so I have purchased a swim top to make me more comfortable / prevent spillage until I go to the swimming pool . I am a petite adult size 4 bust 30cm ,waist 24 cm ,hip 32cm unfortunately there was no S to compare if cut would be better . If would have been nice if they had models of different ages , shapes , hieghts and show measurements to give you an idea of fit this would have been very very helpful ."

Sizing was way off. Far

"Sizing was way off. Far too small."

Top suit, careful with sizing

"I bought this one for my daughter. Perfect and fast piece of swimwear! I do recommend however to buy 2 sizes up, as the suit was too tight in the size she normally wears. The OWS Short Leg Kneeskin is 2 sizes smaller and fits perfectly."

Sizing way off this is

"Sizing way off this is a child's suit! Sent back."

Too small & restrictive

"Unfortunately the size I normally wear as a swimsuit, was way too small to get into. So much so that it would not enhance performance but hinder movement."

Emma (3/5)

Great FINA approved suit at a budget friendly price.

"Good fitting suit accurate to size guide/predictor. I’m a curvy 5ft 11 and the 38 fits really well. The suit is form fitting with compressive feel as you’d want from a race suit, but not restrictive in any way. Straps allowed full arm range with no interference. Personally I’d like the suit to be a little wider across the chest to help contain everything a bit better but being curvy that’s not uncommon! Suit feels very well made. The gold stitching adds a nice finish. Felt great to swim in over sprints and longer distance both freestyle and breaststroke. Very hard to find a FINA approved kneeskin at a better price."

Liv M. (5/5)

Great but size up for height

"Pleased with the quality and bust/hip/waist fit of the kneeskin. I am 5'7 size 8 and bought a 32 but I think a size 34 could be better for my height as straps dig in."

Aimee B. (4/5)

Only for the young & beautiful

"It wasn't something that I could wear. It seemed to be good quality and arrived quickly. As expected, the fit was tight (who wants baggy in a swimsuit), however around the chest area, it was cut a long way in at the sides - really not something that a woman of my age could wear, so it had to go back."
