Zone3 collaborated with Loughborough Sport to independently evaluate how wetsuit design impacts triathlon swimming performance.

Three athletes of different experience levels completed four controlled 750 m swims:
one without a wetsuit, then in the Agile (entry-level), Vision (mid-level), and Vanquish-X (elite).

AGILE ENTRY LEVEL WETSUIT

Proven performance. Confidence from the first stroke.

Independent testing at Loughborough University assessed how different wetsuit designs influence swim performance.
Across a case study of three athletes — beginner, intermediate, and advanced — the Agile demonstrated measurable gains in speed and efficiency at the same perceived effort.

Chart of Loughborough University Sport results for the ZONE3 Agile wetsuit: 2.5% faster over 750m, 2% improvement in stroke efficiency, 9% reduction in blood lactate.

AGILE KEY FINDINGS

As the entry-level suit in the Zone3 range, the Agile improved body position and reduced drag — helping swimmers move more efficiently through the water. The results, averaged across three athletes, show clear performance benefits at a consistent effort level.

Confidence. Comfort. Proven performance

VISION MID-LEVEL WETSUIT

Balanced performance - Faster, Smoother, More Efficient.

In an independent Loughborough Sport case study involving three athletes, the Vision wetsuit produced consistent, measurable improvements in swim performance.
The data showed faster times, improved stroke efficiency, and reduced physiological strain compared to swimming without a wetsuit.

Chart of Loughborough University Sport results for the ZONE3 Vision wetsuit: 3.4% faster over 750m, 3.6% improvement in efficiency, 12% reduction in blood lactate.

VISION KEY FINDINGS

The Vision balances buoyancy and flexibility, delivering efficiency without compromise. Averaged results from three athletes confirmed that this mid-level suit reduces energy cost while improving speed and comfort in the water.

Proven balance of speed, efficiency, and endurance

VANQUISH ELITE WETSUIT

Elite speed. Proven efficiency.

The Vanquish-X was the highest-performing suit in the independent Loughborough Sport study of three athletes.
It delivered measurable improvements in every key metric — speed, efficiency, and physiological load — confirming its elite-level performance advantage.

Chart of Loughborough University Sport results for the ZONE3 Vanquish-X wetsuit: 5.2% faster over 750m, 10.3% improvement in efficiency, 25% reduction in blood lactate.

VANQUISH-X KEY FINDINGS

Averaged results across three athletes showed the Vanquish-X delivered the greatest gains in both performance and efficiency, with the lowest physiological cost recorded.
These findings reinforce its design intent: to deliver measurable, real-world marginal gains for experienced athletes.

The fastest suit tested — proven in an independent Loughborough Sport study of three athletes.

Independent testing at Loughborough Sport evaluated three athletes — beginner, intermediate, and advanced — across four 750 m swims each, with and without Zone3 wetsuits.
Averaged results demonstrated measurable improvements in speed, efficiency, and physiological response across all suits, with outcomes varying by individual. Athlete Approved. Performance Proven.
