This is my second Zone 3 wetsuit and I bought it for swimming in 14° type water. It kept me toasty warm while still being flexible enough that I didn’t feel at all constrained. The legs are a bit too buoyant but a minor negative. Overall I love it (as I also love my Vanquish). Size wise I am 178cm and 74kg and a Large fits well. A “tall” version would be even better as the legs are only just long enough.
First of all, i have to say i just LOVE the gold. It looks incredible in the water. The fit is perfect, it's very flexible and easy to get on and off. Nice length legs which allows you to tuck your socks in for extra warmth. As my first thermal wetsuit i was expecting it to feel very thick and heavy, but it isn't at all. It's pretty buoyant but that's expected of a 3/4mm suit. The lining is super snuggly and keeps you really warm. The one piece shoulder and thinner neoprene gives great arm flexibility when swimming. I love it, would definitely recommend to keep you swimming through the colder months!
The wetsuit itself was absolutely incredible- the colours are lovely, the materials are beautifully soft, stretchy, unrestricting and well put together, and you can really feel the warmth of the thermal fleece lining. I wanted a wetsuit to allow me to swim outdoors through the coldest months of winter while pools were closed due to lockdown. As soon as I zipped up the wetsuit, I could feel how warm the insulation was keeping me. Unfortunately, the fit just wasn't good enough for me. Even though there are 9 different men's sizes, there are only 7 women's sizes. I am 181cm, 6ft, and 95+kg. I purchased the XL, the biggest women's size that Zone3 offers, which although it is supposed to fit 168cm-198cm, 5.6ft - 6.6ft, it is only built to fit 73kg-83kg. The wetsuit fit me perfectly and zipped up fine, and felt beautifully fitting and free over my shoulders. Once I got in the water and started swimming front crawl, the extra stretch around the neck (I assume) meant that water continually flowed through the wetsuit instead of being trapped, and so any benefit from the insulation was lost. The wetsuit itself is absolutely fantastic, it's just such a shame that Zone3 doesn't offer the same range of women's sizes as it does men's.
I purchased this wetsuit because I needed an ultra-low temperature wetsuit to get me through the coldest winter months swimming outdoors while the pools are closed. Unfortunately, because there are only 7 different women's sizes in comparison to the 9 men's, I had to choose a wetsuit that didn't quite fit me. I am 181cm, 95+kg, but the largest women's wetsuit that Zone3 offers is the XL, which although is rated for 168-198cm, is only for women between 73-83kg. I was able to get the wetsuit on perfectly. It zipped up, the fit felt comfortable, well fitting, there was no restriction around my neck, over my shoulders or around my elbows, knees and hips. As soon as you zip up the suit, and sitting/standing in the water, you can feel very clearly how efficient and warm the thermal fleece is. I've never been so warm in 7deg water! Once I got swimming however, the stretch in the suit meant that the neckline "gaped" open a little with each stroke, letting in water. This meant that the wetsuit did not hold water for the thermal lining and my body heat to warm up, and instead I had a constant stream of cold water flowing around me. Overall, an absolutely fantastic wetsuit. It felt beautifully built, colours are gorgeous, the materials are soft, unrestricting and incredibly warm. Just such a shame that Zone3 doesn't support as wide a range of women's sizes as it does men's.

Sometimes I think Zone 3 are reading my mind! While contemplating how long I could keep up the sea swimming through the winter an email popped into my in-box about the new Zone 3 Thermal Aspire Wetsuit. I know that Zone 3 are a good fit for me so this was something I couldn't miss out on. Just had my first sea swim today to try it out and I was toasty warm. The fit is the same as my other Zone 3 wetsuits so they've obviously taken the additional lining material into account when sizing the Thermal Aspire. I am now the envy of my swimming mates!
