WHO IT'S FOR
You swim outdoors through the colder months and change on a beach, a bank or a car park with no shelter. The hardest part of a cold swim often comes after it, when wet skin meets wind and rain and your fingers have stopped cooperating. The Thermo-Tech gives you a dry, warm space to get changed in, and keeps the weather off while you warm back up.
- Cold-water and winter open water swimming
- Changing outdoors in wind and rain
- Standing on the sidelines at races and events
- A warm outer layer for wet days outdoors
WHERE IT SITS IN THE RANGE
The Thermo-Tech is the most weatherproof robe Zone3 makes, and the only one with a fully waterproof shell. The Active-Flex Changing Robe shares the Sherpa lining with a water-resistant shell and a roomier cut, and the Microfibre Changing Robe is the light, packable choice for drying off in milder weather.
KEY BENEFITS
1. Rain and wind stay outside. The outer shell is fully waterproof recycled polyester, treated with fluorine-free BIONIC-FINISH® ECO to repel water, wind and dirt, so you can change in a downpour and stay dry.
2. You warm up faster after a cold swim. A plush Sherpa fleece lining traps heat against your body and wicks moisture away from damp skin, so the robe keeps working when you put it on wet.
3. The gaps are closed too. A storm flap with poppers covers the front zip and hook-and-loop closures pull the cuffs in at the wrist, which leaves the wind nowhere to get in.
4. You can change completely underneath. The robe finishes below the knee and has room inside to get out of a wetsuit and into dry clothes without leaving its cover. A tapered cut stops it swamping you once you are dressed.
5. Your hat goes up and your valuables stay put. The oversized adjustable hood fits comfortably over a beanie, and five pockets, two of them zipped, hold keys, phone and gloves securely.
WHAT YOU'LL FEEL
The wind stops the moment the hood goes up. Inside, the lining feels soft and dry against cold, wet skin, and the warmth builds while you are still working your arms out of your wetsuit. Rain runs off your shoulders rather than soaking through. By the time you are dressed, your hands are working again and you are in no hurry to leave.
