Glide Wetsuit

The Glide is for swimmers in their first seasons of open water, or building towards a first race, who want a suit that works from the first session rather than one to grow into. Two things usually get in the way early on: shoulders that fight the stroke, and legs held in a single plane. This suit is built around both problems.

WHERE IT SITS IN THE RANGE 

The Glide sits above the Active-Flex, which trades pace for nylon front legs, reinforced knees and multi-sport durability. Above it, the Agile moves to a full smoothskin build with speed cuffs for faster transitions, so choose the Glide when open water swimming and a first race are the priority and you still want a suit that handles breaststroke. The Ascend is the sleeveless version of this suit for warmer water. 

KEY BENEFITS 

1. You work less for the same pace. 3mm neoprene through the chest, core and upper legs gives medium core buoyancy, lifting the hips into a flatter position so you hold alignment without kicking to correct it. 

2. You move quicker for the same effort. The Speedflo coating gives a low-drag surface across the smoothskin panels, and neoprene front leg panels run smoother through the water than the nylon used on multi-sport suits. 

3. Your stroke stays your stroke. 2mm Flex-Fit panels across the shoulders and arms take resistance out of the recovery and the catch, so stroke efficiency holds over distance. 

4. Breaststroke works properly. A high-stretch nylon gusset lets the legs open sideways without resistance, and low buoyancy through the legs keeps them submerged rather than lifting behind you. 

5. The suit survives the season. Nylon panels and flatlock construction take abrasion at the knees and lower legs, where a first wetsuit usually fails. 

WHAT YOU'LL FEEL 

Tight on land, quieter as soon as you are horizontal. Your hips come up without you asking them to, and the water sits flatter around you. Reaching forward feels like reaching forward rather than pulling against something. Open your legs wide and nothing catches or lifts. Getting out at the end takes less of a fight than you expect, because the inside is smooth against damp skin.
